This isn't the worst article I have ever read. ;)
Excellent reminder of the importance of a headline that grabs. It is part of the sensationalist tactics that gave newspapers a 'bad name'. The irony is that if they didn't sensationalize, then they lost readership to their competition who did.
'Clickbait' is simply a cute dog with lipstick looking for a kiss. You say don't want it, but you get some anyway.
In some ways the more that things change, the more things stay the same. It is our nature.
