Seems that Oximeters are also being used in the mask debate. Oximeters showing 95% plus when wearing a mask, when wearing six masks, or wearing six masks shortly after running.
They don't address the very real issues that people have when wearing masks.
Recently, I happened to be in a group having a frank and open talk about masks. One in the group confided she had genuine issues with wearing the mask. She explained that she felt shortness of breath when wearing one.
I helped her by first talking about the size of the mask pores (around 5000 nm) and the size of each oxygen molecule (0.3 nm). The difference is a factor of 15,000. So I asked her to visualize that size difference, and molecules passing through a space 15,000 times their size.
Once she had done that, we spoke directly about anxiety, and the possibility of how her brain may have tricked her into taking shallow breaths. Then, while wearing a mask, I asked her to humor me, and to take some deep breaths, and to be aware of her lungs filling up, which she did. I then asked how she felt. She was clearly emotionally moved and said that she was "hugely relieved" and thanked me.
