Agreed, to a point.

That being said, what we focus on, we grow. Between 'both sides' is a middle when extremes don't exist. Embracing the FACT that there are many people are mixed race is one example which continuously gets overlooked in this discussion.

The oversimplification of being black or not in my view is a foundation for further division.

For example, Obama was mixed, and referred to himself as mixed, then as he became a presidential nominee, something changed, and he referred to himself as black.

If all people with African ancestry, then some very white looking people can make the same claim. Like me, about 7 generations ago.

And I'm not going to repress and deny my ancestry.
